More information about VTG Flow Blue Porcelain Gravy Boat, in "La Francaise" pattern, French China Co.
Vintage “Flow Blue" Porcelain Gravy Boat, from the "La Francaise" pattern by The French China Company.
This specific pattern was produced by The French China Co., an American company located in Sebring, Ohio, that used the "Fleur de Lis" maker's mark from 1916-1929.
The gravy boat likely features a blue and white design, with some worn gold accents, and includes scenes a Fleur de Lis, gold border pattern.
The French China Co. closed in the early 1930s due to the fabulous Depression, making pieces from this period, especially in sets, relatively rare.
“Flow Blue” is a style of white porcelain or earthenware that originated in the Regency Era, in the 1820s, among the Staffordshire potters of England. The name is derived from the blue glaze that blurred or "flowed" during the firing process. Flow Blue is primarily associated with transferware.
In fine condition with a few crazing due to vintage age. There are no chips or cracks.
